The Digital Asset Music Network System (DAMNS) was Sony Music’s B2B solution to help reduce the costs in promoting their artist to business partners. The prime purpose of the project was to take every artist and their music, artwork, bios and P.R. and put it on-line for partners to have access to. Being a Content Management issue Logikbox was a perfect fit to assist in this project.
Key project features included individual asset level permissions, multi-site/multi-language customization and the ability to customize screen display to meet users "business profile". Logikbox was hired to define the User Interface requirements, develop use case storyboards, involve other stakeholders of the user-interface, such as end-users, in usability reviews and use testing sessions.
The project was done on location in an accelerated time frame of 9 months. We broke the project into 4 release phases to manage the daunting task. The advantage to this practice was it allows us to build a core application and handled bugs before moving on to the next level of complexity. Each phase would build upon the last adding feature and getting reviews. The project was completed on time and in budget and is still the cornerstone of Sony Music’s B2B initiatives.
